Eresos sits at the foot of a wild and grand mountain gorge. It is about an hour and a half’s drive from the airport and is a no-through village located 3 miles inland, through lush and fertile farmland, from the island’s most beautiful beach, Skala Eresos, boasting a 2.5 km stretch of sand adjacent to the crystal clear waters of the Aegean. The appeal of Eresos is to holiday without being surrounded by tourists and ‘tourist’ culture. With Skala Eresos in such close proximity it is easy to dip in and out of the numerous bars and restaurants catering for holidaymakers without them being right on your doorstep. This Greek village has remained unchanged for the past several years and is totally self-sufficient with 2 bakeries, 2 butchers, 3 greengrocers and a few grocery stores. There are also 3 really good local restaurants situated around the village square, and a small cocktail bar.
